The vineyards of Australia’s premier wine region take up only a small part of the Hunter Valley landscape. As the balloon rises the rolling countryside reveals the farmland below, grazing horses and cattle and mobs of kangaroos bounding along.

What goes up must come down.
Your pilot will choose a landing site, which is always downwind of the take off site, and inform the ground crew who will meet us as the balloon comes back to earth.
The fun doesn’t stop yet. About 20 minutes is spent packing the balloon away before we celebrate this memorable occasion by partaking in one of the finest traditions of ballooning, toasting our achievements with Champagne.
This time is a great opportunity to view and purchase a photo taken whilst airborne by your pilot.
It’s a short drive back to the Crowne Plaza hotel where we say our goodbyes and where you can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast at the Redsalt restaurant; we highly recommend it.
The Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley provides Cloud 9 Balloon Flights with perfect location, great facilities and comfortable surroundings for checking our passengers in on the morning of the flight.
Meeting time is approximately 1 hour prior to Sunrise. You will be advised of the meet time during the ‘Check In’ call on the last working day prior to your flight.
After completing some paperwork and listening to a short briefing from your pilot you will be transported to the launch site where you are welcome to help prepare the balloon for flight, or stand back and take pictures.
Then it’s up and away on the gentle breezes over the vineyards and countryside of the Hunter Valley in our hot air balloon.
